SIVGA QUE UTG - "a glass sound?"

‼️DISCLAIMER:

This set was provided by Sivga in exchange for my honest opinion. There was no monetary compensation for this review.

⚜️WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

Sivga is the parent company of Kefine and I have reviewed 2 of their products. The unboxing is pretty close to the recent one I reviewed, the Quatio. For the price, you get a decent amount and eartip options. The cable is interchangeable and the carrying case is sturdy and usable

⚜️BUILD and COMFORT

This is a single DD set. A 10mm glass diaphragm housed in zinc alloy  body. The build quality is solid and feels expensive. The cables are high purity silver plated OFC and feel okay for the price.

Fit and comfort is fairly good! They look bulky but they are not thick to wear. I can fit them deep depending on what eartip I use. I suggest you experiment with eartips because I find them to break the seal when you change the angle when wearing.

⚜️SETUP:

-Shanling M3X, Shanling M3 Plus, Fiio Jm21 using UAPP, Hiby and stock player

⚜️SOUND PROFILE

The tonality of the Sivga Que UTG can be descrbed as an upper mid focused set. What this translates to listening is, you  will have more emphasis on the presence area and you will hear boosts in clarity and overall resolution.

There is one caveat to the boost in this area and that is timbral accuracy. Some instruments may not sound as natural as they should be. For example, I was trying it with my drums and I found that the floor toms sounded more like almost a high tom in tone. You may not notice this if you are only listneing to music, but just be aware that it may render some instruments higher in tone.

⚜️BASS

Bass is pretty linear. What I mean but this is, it does not have the typical subbass over midbass shelf. It focuses on quality impact and midbass that has good texturing. I don't hear the midbass muddying up the mids because they dont linger long.  Some people might actually want more subbass. I dont mind this bass shelf to be honest because it works with my library just fine

⚜️MIDS

Mids are clean sounding and I don't hear any significant recession. Vocals are forward in both male and females. However, I do want to emphasize that there is a boost in the upper mids which favors female vocals. Males still sound natural but it may lack some heft and authority. I already mentioned about some timbral inaccuracies in some instruments, so if you are sensitive , the Sivga Que UTG might not be for you

⚜️TREBLE

The boost in the upper mids is connected to the lower treble. So you can actually get more microdetails and perceived resolution from this set. It does not really create new details, but it has the tendency to push the overtones forward, giving you that sense of "hifi" and addedd resolution. Surprisingly, I also do not feel the peak at 5-6k. Either that I am not sensitive to that area or it  is how the eartips interact with my ear canal.  Be aware of the peak around the presence area because you may be sensitive to that

⚜️TECHS

One thing that I genuinely enjoy when listening to the Sivga Que UTG is its technicalities especially in staging. To put it simply, it is trippy, in a good way!

I dont really find the stage to be particularly wide, but the spacing is definitely there. The sound stage is spacious, and there is good separation of instruments. Imaging is very easy to follow because everything is well divided.  I know this is an unnatural rendition of how the tracks are mixed, but it sure does give a very nice flavor to your music!

Imagine salted caramel. Both ingredients are good on its own, but the combination does give you a different experience.

❤️PROS

✅nice and spacious sound stage

✅good instrument separation and layering

✅good bass decay and good quality

💢CONS

❌some isntruments don't sound natural

❌the peaks might be bothersome to people sensitive to upper mids

❌not enough subbass for bassheads

⚜️COMPARISONS

▶️Nf Acous NA20

The gain is surprisingly similar where in they focus to boost that presence area. The bass has the same attack and quantity when listening but I have to give the bass quality to the Sivga Que UTG because they feel tighter and quicker in decay. I think can recommend the Sivga because I just feel there is something special about the glass diaphragm they are using.

▶️Dunu kima 2

The tonality is different but Iam comparing the two because the kima 2 is my benchmark in tonality. When looking at graphs, the peaks on the Sivga looks scary, and it does sound elevated with all the details. The kima 2 however, has a more natural and smooth replay of my music. Everything just sounds correct timbrally, although not as trippy as the Sivga when it comes to staging.

▶️Epz Q5

The upper mids emphasis made me remember this set from last year. Some companies were going after a boosted upper mids around that time because it gives the impressions of more details. The Sivga Que Utg is not different, although the peaks are not as prominent, maybe because of the glass diaphragm, paired with the elevated midbass to compensate for the upper mids gain. I still think the Sivga Que UTG has that special sauce.

▶️Kefine Klean

It is from the same company I think. The kefine klean is one of the gatekeepers in this price range. It graphs well and sounds really good for price. You also get tuning nozzles with the klean. For me, i just find the kefine klean an easier set to recommend because it does not have major tuning problems. Im not saying the Sivga Que UTG is bad,  in  fact I find it more fun the the Klean. It is just that, the Klean is much better tonally.

🤔FINAL THOUGHTS

It is my first time reviewing Sivga sets and I must say that I am excited about their future products! The Sivga Que UTG is an interesting set the features a glass diaphragm, and I dont know how they were able to do that. For the price of around $95, I think they were able to make a set that offers enough fun factor and details.

The tonality might not be for everyone but I am pretty sure that is well enjoyed by current owners of this set. It brings us back to the reason why we are in this hobby, and that is to enjoy our music
